Delta Optical IM-100 inverted metallographic microscope for observing opaque samples in reflected light (EPI - reflected light) in bright field and polarized light at a magnification in the range of 40x-400x (with optional lenses up to 1000x ). Thanks to the inverted design, it is possible to observe larger samples that do not fit under other microscopes (due to the height of the sample).
The third optical path allows you to connect a digital microscope camera or photo camera in order to take photos, make measurements. The microscope has an optical system corrected to infinity with very good planachromatic objectives:
- 4x NA 0.1
- 10x NA 0.25
- 20x NA 0.4
- 40x NA 0.6
They are corrected for operation without coverslips. The included filters - polarizer and analyzer allow you to observe samples in polarized light.
The metallographic microscope enables the observation of features important from the point of view of material engineering and quality control. It is used to study the structure of metals and their alloys (metallographic microsections), to detect micro cracks, assess surface roughness and load capacity, evaluate the microstructure of plastics , analyze electronic components (e.g. integrated circuits), make measurements. Observation under a metallographic microscope makes it possible to identify metal alloys and study their structure (shape, dimensions, quantity and distribution of components), detect defects in the structure or material, study the mechanisms of phase transformations and identify phases, reproduce the applied technological processes and study the phenomena occurring during the exploitation of materials.
Optional accessories to buy - plan achromatic objectives corrected to infinity:
2.5x/ NA 0.08
5x / NA 0.12
20x / NA 0.40
40x / NA 0.65
50x / NA 0.75
100x / NA 0.80
